Position: Senior Accountant
BCom Offshore SAL is looking for a qualified and experienced female candidate for the position of Senior Accountant with at least 5 years of relevant experience. This is a full time position based in Beirut and is very essential to the company’s activities. There will be minimal auditor’s assistance as the Company Auditor is Ernst and Young who audits company’s accounts once a year and is only available for special consultation. Office hours are Mon-Fri 09:30-17:30. Salary range depends on experience and qualifications and includes transportation allowances and NSSF. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Update and book transactions using the company’s accounting software on a weekly basis including but not limited to journal entries, general ledgers accounts analysis, trial balances etc.
- Reconcile bank statements and suppliers' statements
- Handle the petty cash
- Process outgoing checks (no incoming checks as it is an offshore operation)
- Control incoming invoices against purchase orders and contracts
- Monitor the approval process of invoices
- Administer payments for invoices and salaries either by bank transfers or check payments; salaries include payrolls, payroll taxes and NSSF calculations (VAT not needed since it is an offshore company.)
- Prepare weekly reports of the accounts payables and receivables and schedule payments in view of projected cash flow report
- Follow up billing of customers for services and projects
- Report inconveniences in the accounting department to the director and propose remedies
- Perform the periodic adjustment transactions and period-end closing
- Prepare Financial reports and analysis in addition to quarterly Income Statement and Balance Sheet.
- Monitor existing contracts with regards to renewal dates, payment and billing obligations etc.
- Assist Management and Administrative Officer with administrative issues when needed (e.g. prepare purchase orders, coordinate with freight forwarders, request material and service quotations,
Qualifications and skills:
- University degree in Business or equivalent major with excellent accounting knowledge
- At least 5 years of relevant work experience
- Knowledge of accounting principles in accordance with IFRS
- Knowledge of the Lebanese Government rules and regulations related to accounting practices
- Ability to communicate with people at all levels within and outside the organization
- Good working knowledge of MS Office software suite including Excel, Word, Access and Outlook
- Good working knowledge of computer based accounting systems (preferably www.Orange-2000.com accounting software)
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills in Arabic, English, and French.
- Meticulous approach, positive self-esteem, high energy, and ability to focus despite interruptions and multitasking
- Pro-active approach to planning, organizing, prioritizing, and managing multiple tasks
- Ability to work independently within a team cooperation, with good problem-solving skills, prompt follow-up on details
